Family Reunion 2008

Last year when we attended the annual Decker-Frink family reunion in Clarence, Eleanor wasn't even 2 months old yet. But she was a big hit. This year she was all over the place, and maybe an even bigger hit. It was so much fun watching her with Great Great Uncle Ed and Ron & Paula. It was an absolutely fantastic day - upper 70s and sunny and the potluck dinner was fantastic as usual. Hopefully next year more people will be able to attend.

i usually try to resist the urge to treat my child like a trained monkey, but...
she was in a dancing mood already this morning, so we had to encourage it on video.

has her cake, eats it too

i was so excited to let her have some cake that the bib totally slipped my mind. there were even chocolate crumbs in her ears when she was done.
my first birthday wish for eleanor is that she approach all of life's joys and challenges with the same gusto as this piece of chocolate cake.
and surprisingly, she even had a nice nap afterwards!
